The Hunter Valley Nuclear Energy Research Project (HVNERP) is a privately funded research project. The founding contributors to the HVNERP understand that while Australia is in denial of the obvious fact that many countries are embracing the move to nuclear energy as a clean alternative.
We need to start moving or get left behind.
HVNERP have no political ties, or government support, so our research and reports will be unbiased. The aim is to use technology being developed around the world to bring Australia a cheap and clean electricity supply.
As renewable projects burn through taxpayer subsidies, we will be looking to utilise Australia's rich uranium resources to supply businesses and households with reliable base load electricity.
The founders of HVNERP are committed to the funding of this project and understand they will be met with many challenges, particularly from the current Federal Government.
HVNERP will also be looking for appropriate sites for future possible nuclear power generation in the NEW ENGLAND, CENTRAL COAST and LIVERPOOL PLAINS areas.
A main consideration will be the use of existing infrastructure to reduce the capital cost to Australian taxpayers.
